About me
About me
Painter with atelier south of Munich, Germany.
I grew up in Bad Driburg near the Teutoburg Forest in Germany and lived in the USA and Switzerland before settling in the Munich area.
I studied painting at the Angel Academy in Florence and with Patrick Devonas in Switzerland.
Artist Statement
In my work, I examine humanity’s relationship with the natural world: nature as a mirror that reflects our deepest selves; nature offering refuge; nature changing—because of us.
I paint to deepen perception and reveal the unseen. I begin with transparent colors, gradually shaping the composition on the canvas. Opaque colors come later as I maintain the delicate balance in a translucent, open space for as long as possible. For me, the process is a dialogue with the canvas; a conversation in layers. Ultimately, the painting itself determines the direction.
The series “Back to the Garden” emerged from my experiences in a forest pond. Gliding through the boggy waters, my body takes on earthy hues. I merge into the world of the pond and find a profound connection. Above me, vibrant activity. Below, mystery. Dreams and reality converge beneath me, in the dark, unfathomable depths. In “Nasswiese” I examine the vulnerability of nature. A meadow lies submerged, raising questions about the fate of humanity and the natural world.
